Visualize Blood Flow at Higher Frame Rates
What is Vector Flow Imaging?
Vector Flow Imaging (VFI) uses plane-wave imaging to map vascular hemodynamics and flow patterns by measuring the velocity and direction of blood flow. This angle-independent, push-button imaging mode allows researchers to:
- Map hemodynamics and identify flow patterns such as helical flow, flow reversal, and laminar flow
- Characterize turbulence in stenosis and arteriovenous fistula models
- Measure wall shear stress in atherosclerosis models to investigate factors associated with plaque stability
