Vascular Inflammation at the Crossroads of Health and Disease is the 76th Annual Meeting of the British Microcirculation and Vascular Biology Society (BMVBS), taking place at the University of Birmingham from 22–24 April 2026. The meeting will bring together researchers from across the UK and beyond to explore the full spectrum of microcirculatory and vascular biology, from endothelial and immune cell interactions, angiogenesis and barrier function, to mechanotransduction, ageing, co-morbidities, and therapeutic innovation.
While inflammation provides a unifying theme, the programme will encompass basic, translational and clinical research across all aspects of the microcirculation in health and disease.
Scientific sessions will feature international and UK leaders presenting the latest advances in vascular function, imaging, and molecular regulation, alongside talks selected from abstract submissions. The meeting includes oral and poster sessions, networking activities, and a dedicated Early Career Researcher Day focused on skills development and mentoring. In keeping with the Society’s ethos, BMVBS 2026 will be an inclusive, affordable, and scientifically rigorous forum that showcases the diversity and vitality of microvascular research and supports the next generation of investigators.
