The Vevo F2 imaging system supports B-Mode and Photoacoustics
Get Anatomical Data across a range of frequencies with B-Mode Ultrasound! B-Mode is a two-dimensional ultrasound image display composed of bright dots representing the ultrasound echoes. The brightness of each dot is determined by the amplitude of the returned echo signal. This allows for visualization and quantification of anatomical structures, as well as for the visualization of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for animal studies. Suitable for imaging of phantoms.
This universal imaging mode is great for:
- Image-guided injections for needle placement of an injection or aspiration procedure
- Identification of lesions, cysts or tumors
- Locating structural anomalies
- Developing image processing algorithms using phantoms
Photoacoustic imaging allows the delivery of light energy that is absorbed by tissues causing a thermoelastic expansion. This expansion then generates ultrasound waves that are detected by the transducer and produce images of optical absorption contrast within tissues.
Photoacoustic imaging using the Vevo F2 allows for yet another layer of information when assessing vascular and molecular events.
By adding photoacoustics, users of the Vevo F2 can perform real-time oxygen saturation and
molecular imaging, co-registered with high resolution anatomy. The expanded range of frequencies permits a wider range of animal models to be used in translational research.
