What is Ultra High (UHF) Frequency Ultrasound?

Our Vevo imaging systems and their transducers deliver an acoustic pulse into the animal’s body. Tissues of different densities absorb and reflect sound waves differently resulting in high-resolution grayscale images when the partially reflected sound waves return to the transducer.

Our systems give you high resolution - down to 30 µm while imaging depths up to 3cm at frame rates up to 10,000 fps.

What is Photoacoustic (PA) Imaging?

The Vevo LAZR and Vevo LAZR-X photoacoustic imaging platforms deliver light energy that is absorbed by tissues causing a thermoelastic expansion. This expansion generates ultrasound waves that are detected by the transducer and produce images of optical absorption contrast within tissues. See infographic.
