Abdominal, 3D, Contrast & Tumor Imaging Two-Day Training

Offered for Vevo 770 & 2100 Systems
Our Abdominal and 3D Techniques and Contrast Training Program will use the mouse model to help users optimize their use of the Vevo high-resolution imaging system for phenotyping of cancer models and /or abdominal Imaging.

Specific areas of focus include:

  • Obtaining 2D views of the liver, spleen, pancreas, gallbladder, kidney and adrenals
  • Use of Pulsed-Wave Doppler Mode to obtain flow measurements of the renal artery and vein, portal vein, hepatic vessels, splenic vessels, abdominal aorta and IVC
  • Implementation of standard measurements used in the abdomen
  • Creation of a 3D volumetric measurement in vivo in a subcutaneous tumor model
  • How to use Color Doppler Mode (for Vevo 2100 system only)
  • Use of Power Doppler Mode to quantify percent vascularity
  • MicroMarker Contrast Imaging in assessing tumor perfusion
  • Targeted MicroMarker Contrast Imaging for relative quantification of biomarkers (e.g. VEGF-R2)
  • Vevo CQ analysis of perfusion and targeted data (for Vevo 2100 only)
  • Workflow optimization

Cardiovascular Two-Day Training

Our Cardiovascular Training Program will use the mouse model to help users optimize their use of the Vevo high-resolution imaging system for cardiovascular phenotyping.

Specific areas of focus include:

  • How to do a mouse echocardiogram, including imaging the heart in long axis, short axis and apical views.
  • How to obtain images of the aortic valve, pulmonary valve, mitral and tricuspid valves
  • How to use Color Doppler Mode (for Vevo 2100 system only)
  • How to obtain and measure Pulsed-Wave Doppler Mode and M-Mode spectrums
  • Diastolic function measurements
  • Left ventricular analysis
  • Workflow optimization
  • Image guided injection into the myocardium

This is a hands-on session

Vevo MicroMarker Contrast Imaging Two-Day Training

Our Vevo MicroMarker Training Program, will use the mouse model to help users optimize their use of the Vevo high-resolution imaging system for contrast-enhanced and molecular imaging, using Vevo MicroMarker contrast agents.

Specific areas of focus include:

  • Overview of available Vevo MicroMarker contrast agents for various applications
  • Introduction of tail vein cannulation techniques (for agent introduction)
  • Hands-on practice sessions will involve both targeted and non-targeted imaging with Vevo MicroMarker contrast agents, and software analysis tools
  • Models may include subcutaneous tumors, normal abdominal organs, hind limb inflammatory model and normal eye and heart models
  • Workflow optimization

This is a hands-on session

Vascular and Doppler One-Day Training

Our Vascular and Doppler Training Program will use the mouse model to help users optimize their use of the Vevo high-resolution imaging system for cardio and vascular phenotyping.

Specific areas of focus include:

  • Overview of basic Doppler principles for quantification of blood flow
  • Locating and obtaining 2D images of various vessels in the body, such as the carotid arteries, femoral arteries, renal arteries, splenic arteries, abdominal aorta and branches off of the vessel, i.e. mesenteric arteries
  • Obtaining Pulsed-Wave Doppler Mode image of these vessels and implementing flow measurement and quantification tools in the software such as peak velocity, VTI, resistive and pulsatility indices…
  • How to use Color Doppler Mode (for Vevo 2100 system only)
  • Use of M-Mode to aid in wall measurements of vessels
  • Workflow optimization

This is a hands-on session

VevoStrain™ One-Day Workshop (North America Only)

This workshop is intended for Vevo 2100 users, however if you are a Vevo 770 user and would like to see how this software works, you too can attend. However this software is only available on the Vevo 2100 system.

Our VevoStrain Workshop will use the mouse model to help users optimize the use of the VevoStrain software for global wall motion tracking in the left ventricle.

Specific areas of focus include:

  • Normal and infarcted images for analysis will be provided
  • Overview of regional and global wall motion tracking
  • How to quantify: velocity/displacement/strain/strain rate time to peak
  • Quantification with a variety of graphs and parametric displays
  • How to export and understand the values

This is a post-processing feature, computers for analysis will be provided for this hands-on session. There is no animal handling with this course

Cancer Imaging – Two-Day Training

Our Cancer Imaging Training will employ the mouse model to help researchers optimize their use of the Vevo high resolution imaging systems for phenotyping of cancer models. This training will focus on obtaining data with the Vevo 2100 ultrasound and Vevo LAZR Photoacoustic systems.

Specific areas of focus include:

  • Imaging and sizing tumors in 2D with depth, width and area measurements
  • Creation of a 3D volumetric measurement in vivo in a subcutaneous tumor model
  • How to use Color Doppler Mode
  • Use of Power Doppler to quantify percent vascularity
  • MicroMarkerTM Contrast Imaging in assessing tumor perfusion
  • Targeted MicroMarker Contrast Imaging for relative quantification of biomarkers (e.g. VEGF-R2)
  • VevoCQ analysis of perfusion and targeted data
  • Photoacoustic quantification of tumor Hemoglobin content
  • Photoacoustic non-invasive assessment of tumor oxygen saturation levels
  • Detection of gold nanoparticles in vivo using the Vevo LAZR Photoacoustics system
  • Sentinel lymph node detection using methylene blue, a photoacoustically active dye
  • Workflow optimization
