The next-generation scanhead (or probe) now available from VisualSonics is called the RMV or real-time microvisualization scanhead.

It is the first high-resolution imaging scanhead for small animal research to provide real-time display of the ultrasound image due to its 30-frames/second frame rate.

RMV models are available for specific disease applications ranging from
20 - 82.5 MHz. The RMV can be mounted on the integrated rail system or handheld for rapid screening applications.

Encapsulation for Stable Image_
The RMV scanhead is fully encapsulated ensuring that there is less movement of the animal during imaging and therefore better image resolution.

Handheld use for Rapid Screening Applications_ Scanning can be performed with the RMV via handheld use for rapid screening applications or via a fixed mount on the rail system.

Small Profile_ The small profile of the RMV scanhead permits clear visibility of animal anatomy during imaging.

Wide Field of View_ The RMV scanhead has a field of view of 20 mm that provides the researcher with a wide image area.

Flexible Functionality_ For different research applications, unique RMV scanheads are available, each with unique attributes that are optimized for that particular application or technique.
